Platform policy and campaign framing
Review each platform's current policy against the actual advertisement, practice area and target locations. A legal subject alone does not establish a universal Special Ad Category classification. Do not imply knowledge of a person's medical condition or promise compensation or a particular case outcome.
Have the responsible lawyer review disclosures and any apparent government affiliation. An example of cautious wording is not a finding that an advertisement is compliant or will be approved.
Google Ads access and Local Services screening
Ordinary Google Ads access and Local Services Ads screening are separate workstreams. Record the client account, linked manager, authorized users, billing contact and permissions. Google manager-account ownership distinguishes linking from administrative ownership.
For Local Services Ads, check the precise business category and location. Google's screening process varies by category and location; lawyer requirements should not be presented as a universal dual gate for every Google Search campaign. Follow the account's actual requests rather than assuming an agency letter prevents suspension.
Intake data and advertising measurement
Inventory each event, field, URL and recipient before enabling a data connection. Free-text case narratives, medical information and client records do not belong in an ordinary advertising inquiry. Server-side processing and hashing do not establish permission to share sensitive information; hashing is not encryption.
Google customer-data policy restricts enhanced conversions and store-sales uploads for conversions related to sensitive categories. Assess the meaning of the conversion as well as its identifiers. Review other platforms separately.
- List proposed events and destinations without real client data.
- Obtain the firm's privacy and advertising review.
- Inspect outbound payloads and URLs using approved synthetic inputs.
- Remove unapproved fields and events before activation.
- Record who may change the connection and how changes are reviewed.
This is an operational review sequence, not a claim that an AdsInfra integration has been implemented or certified.
Jurisdictional advertising review
The responsible lawyer should identify the rules that apply to the firm's jurisdictions and communications. ABA Model Rule 7.1 addresses false or misleading communications; Model Rule 7.2 addresses advertising and related boundaries. Model rules do not certify a provider or replace applicable state rules.
Keep the approved ad and landing-page version, reviewer, jurisdiction, date and conditions together. Ask which changes need another review. Do not infer that a provider's fee structure, creative library or infrastructure is bar-approved.
Evidence checklist before changing access
- Owning business and authorized administrators identified
- Manager permissions, billing responsibilities and exit plan agreed
- Applicable jurisdictional reviewer and approved creative recorded
- LSA screening status checked separately when relevant
- Intake routes and data recipients reviewed with synthetic inputs
- Open dependencies and official escalation owner recorded
Mark each item ready, blocked or not applicable, with evidence and an owner. Completion is not certification or a guarantee of approval.
Use the law-firm ad account handover checklist for a fuller account and intake review.
Request a legal infrastructure review. Share platforms, locations and the operational issue; omit client names, case details, medical information, credentials and documents.
